Original ‘Jurassic World’ Script Featured a Raptor Helicopter Jump, Totally Different Characters

Posted on Tuesday, August 28th, 2018 by Hoai-Tran Bui

Movies can look completely different from their inception and the final product on the big screen, especially since every movie goes through several script changes. This certainly applies to Jurassic World.

Director Colin Trevorrow joined the project after a script had already been written by by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, bringing along his own changes and writing partner Derek Connolly. So exactly what changed between Jaffa and Silver’s original Jurassic World script and Trevorrow’s final product? Quite a lot, actually.

Why the Time is Right for “Screenlife” Movies Like ‘Searching’ and ‘Unfriended’

Posted on Tuesday, August 28th, 2018 by Andrew Todd

Everything happens on the internet now, and that poses problems for filmmakers.

For decades, movies and TV have struggled with how to depict the decidedly un-cinematic act of using computers. In the ‘80s, ‘90s and early 2000s, the typical approaches were to hype up the user interface with animation and 3D graphics, put the user in virtual reality, or make the computer talk. None of these were particularly realistic, and as the internet became more familiar to everyday people through the 2000s, movies had to change. We saw work that used floating, abstract graphics to depict phone or computer use. But these still suffered from the same inherent problem: how do you visually tell a story that takes place on a computer?

Surprisingly, the answer seems to lie in the least expected place. What if audiences didn’t need conventional filmmaking to be drawn into the story? What if the computer screen itself was enough? Enter a burgeoning new wave of cinema, consisting solely of recorded video from computer desktops.

Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘Who is America’ Season 2 Might Happen After All [Updated]

Posted on Tuesday, August 28th, 2018 by Ben Pearson

Update 8/28: Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Showtime has yet to officially cancel Who is America, despite Cohen claiming that the most recent episode would be “the last EVER show”. I guess the joke’s on us and there’s still a chance the series could return for a second season after all. Our original article follows.

Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen appeared in two films in 2016 and then disappeared from screens for two years, laying dormant as he planned his next move. Then he burst onto the scene again with Who is America?, a surprise Showtime series that became controversial before it even aired its first episode. The first season came to an end last night, and Cohen says Who is America season 2 is not going to happen. Read More »

Also joining Zawierucha in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino movie are Danny Strong and Sydney Sweeney, once again expanding the ever-growing Once Upon a Time in Hollywood cast.

‘Bad Times at the El Royale’ Interviews: Drew Goddard, Jeff Bridges, Jon Hamm, and Dakota Johnson

Posted on Tuesday, August 28th, 2018 by Ben Pearson

In June, I visited Lake Tahoe, California to attend an early press day for Bad Times at the El Royale, a new crime thriller from writer/director Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods). That’s the setting for the new film, a mystery that unfolds in 1969 and centers on a run-down motel on the state line between California and Nevada. That duality is an integral part of the movie – characters aren’t always what they seem, and their shaky allegiances can switch sides in an instant when things go wrong (and naturally, things go very wrong).

During the junket, I jumped in a small boat and was taxied out to a yacht on Lake Tahoe, where I interviewed Goddard about why surveillance plays a large part in his movies, how he makes movies that reveal more layers on multiple viewings, and more. I also had the chance to speak with stars Jon Hamm, Dakota Johnson, and Jeff Bridges about the details in Goddard’s script, how the setting informed their physicality, and a lot more. Read More »

Drew Goddard gives new meaning to the term “hotel horror stories” with the trailer for his stylish new thriller, Bad Times at the El Royale.

Now, a new Bad Times at the El Royale trailer invites us in to be part of the whole star-studded affair.

So when Johnny English Strikes Again, you better be prepared for even a crazier, wackier ride.

4 Great Reasons To Watch Daddy’s Home 2

Paramount Pictures released a second preview of the comedy, where Brad (Ferrell) and Dusty (Wahlberg) conclude their harmony society in an attempt to impress their parents, played by Mel Gibson and John Lithgow, who are the living image of they.

Daddy’s Home 2 has been directed by Sean Anders, the same director of the original tape. Also, bring back Linda Cardellini and John Cena. Before the expected comes the sequel that made the kids laugh and the best thing is that they already revealed an advance of Daddy’s Home 2 (Daddy’s War, title in Mexico).

Paramount Pictures brings back Mark Wahlberg (with all his imposing arms) and Will Ferrell accompanied by Mel Gibson and John Lithgow, who will incarnate the parents of the protagonists.

On this occasion, parents and parents will meet to offer the best Christmas to their children. The relationship will not be easy because Dusty’s father is sexist while Brad’s is very emotional. The holidays could be transformed into total chaos.

The closest thing to that terrible feeling will be when the comedy of the sequel Guerra de papás 2 is released later this year. Paramount Pictures premiered a second trailer on The Hellen Show, where it is clear that the adventures and misadventures of Brad and Dusty just started at the end of the 2015 movie.

#4 A great release date: November 22, 2017

As you know, Gibson, John Cena and John Lithgow join the stars Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell, when Dusty and Brad’s parents visit them to celebrate the holiday season.

Daddy’s Home 2 Development

A new trailer for Paramount Pictures’ Daddy’s Home 2 has arrived well ahead of its early November release date and its Christmas-themed plot, so, “Happy holidays” I guess? At least this time around the trailer is provided in more conventional widescreen format and not condensed to Facebook square like the first one, so there’s much more room for all the daddies to air out their grievances in this comedy sequel.

Daddy’s Home 2 Full Movie Storyline

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg return as sensitive step-dad Brad Whitaker and badass dad Dusty Mayron respectively, but they’re joined by their own dads in this follow-up to the Sean Anders-directed 2015 hit. Anders returns to direct newcomers John Lithgow, playing the elder Mr. Whitaker, and Mel Gibson as the Mayron grand-patriarch. Not enough dads for you? Don’t worry, there are more to come.
Watch the new Daddy’s Home 2 trailer below. The film also stars Linda Cardellini, John Cena, and Alessandra Ambrosio. Daddy’s Home 2 opens in theaters on November 10th.
What do you do when the rivals settle their differences and – for the most part, at least – find a way to live amicably? That’s the challenge for the sequel to 2015’s Mark Wahlberg/Will Ferrell comedy Daddy’s Home. The answer appears to me: more dad issues. See the new trailer and a new poster below.

About The Characters

Mark Wahlberg

American actor Mark Wahlberg is one of a handful of respected entertainers who successfully made the transition from teen pop idol to acclaimed actor.

Linda Cardellini

Linda Edna Cardellini was born in Redwood City, California, to Lorraine (Hernan) and Wayne David Cardellini, a businessman.

Mel Gibson

Mel Columcille Gerard Gibson was born January 3, 1956 in Peekskill, New York, USA, as the sixth of eleven children of Hutton Gibson.

Will Ferrell

John William Ferrell was born in Irvine, California, to Betty Kay (Overman), a teacher, and Roy Lee Ferrell, Jr., a musician.

John Lithgow

If “born to the theater” has meaning in determining a person’s life path, then John Lithgow is a prime example of this truth
