Untitled Avengers Movie Quotes

There are no approved quotes yet for this movie.

Evangeline Lilly and Paul Rudd were filming Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) and this film at the same time.

Reportedly, Marvel Studios has twenty more films planned after this film.

Director Russo Brothers said that Untitled Avengers film could be 3 hours long.

According to producer and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, this film is the finale of all three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Filming officially began on August 10, 2017. It was shot back-to-back with Avengers: Infinity War (2018), which started filming in the previous January.

Since his introduction in the Marvel Cinematic universe, Chris Evans has appeared as Steve Rogers/Captain America in one film a year, totaling nine times. He has starred in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), The Avengers (2012), an uncredited cameo in Thor: The Dark World (2013), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), a special cameo in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Untitled Avengers Movie (2019). His post-credit cameo in Ant-Man (2015) doesn’t really count, because that exact scene is featured in Captain America: Civil War (2016).

The film will conclude the recurring Thanos and Infinity Stones story arc in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This film and its predecessor Avengers: Infinity War (2018) were filmed entirely on digital 2D IMAX cameras, making them the first Hollywood movies to be shot entirely in IMAX in an exclusive open-matte aspect ratio of 1.9:1.

Chapter Ten of Phase Three in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This marks composer Alan Silvestris’ fourth time composing a film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with his first three being Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), The Avengers (2012), and Avengers: Infinity War (2018).

Formerly known as “Avengers: Infinity War Part II”

This will be the 22nd film to be released by Marvel Studios for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As Marvel will not officially own any of the film rights to the Fantastic Four and X-Men characters until 2020 after they bought 20th Century Fox, none of those characters will appear in this second film, as both Infinity War films had been in production way before Fox and Marvel’s deal.

On September 11, 2017, the production of the movie was shut down because of Hurricane Irma.

During a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 event in April 2017, Zoe Saldana revealed the title of the film as Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet. Following this, James Gunn announced that was not the title.

Kevin Feige has said that the the series finale episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) (Star Trek: The Next Generation: All Good Things. (1994)) inspired the film.

Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) and Chris Evans (Captain America/Steve Rogers) have previously starred in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) together before either of their appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Larson played Scott‘s (Michael Cera) ex-girlfriend the rock star Envy Adams, and Evans played the action movie star Lucas Lee (one of Ramona’s (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) Seven Evil Exes). In addition, that movie was written and directed by Edgar Wright, who wrote the original screenplay for Ant-Man (2015) but dropped out as director due to his creative clashes with Marvel Studios.

This film marks the 4th time where Captain America (Chris Evans) wears his light blue outfit from the first “Avengers” film. The other times are The Avengers (2012), Thor: The Dark World (2013) and Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).

Despite speculation and rumors, the Netflix Marvel characters like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Elektra, and The Punisher will not make an appearance in this film.

First MCU film to feature both the Hulk and Ant-Man. Paul Rudd previously appeared in I Love You, Man (2009), which also featured the original Hulk, Lou Ferrigno. Ant-Man (2015) also featured a cameo by Garrett Morris, who played Ant-Man on a Saturday Night Live (1975) sketch that also featured John Belushi as the Hulk.

Spoilers (6)

This is Robert Downey Jr.’s last contractual obligation to play Tony Stark/Iron Man for Marvel Studios. Though Downey has stated he plans on being involved with the Marvel Cinematic Universe longer than his current contractual commitments are structured, many are lead to believe he will sign a new deal after his current one has concluded.

Set photos leaked showing Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Tom Hiddleston wearing outfits and costumes from the first Avengers film, as well as the rubble-filled New York set during which the final battle of The Avengers (2012) is set. This leads many to believe that either a flashback sequence or time travel will play a major role in this film.

According to the Russo brothers, the title of this film will not be announced anytime soon because it would be a spoiler for Infinity War (2018).

Jeremy Renner was spotted wearing a costume similar to that of Ronin from the comics, which speculates that he might be taking up the mantle of the character.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson‘s character, Quicksilver, was seen on set pics of this film. Hinting that he might return or will just briefly make an appearance in a flashback scene of Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).

Rumored to be titled Avengers: End Game, after a comment made by Dr. Strange in Infinity War. This was also more believed after a fan looked at one of the cinematographers, where it listed the title Avengers: End Game in the films he has/ or will do.

Avengers 4 release date, cast, title and everything you need to know

It’s the end of an era.

Warning: Contains major spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War.

Avengers 4 is going to be a turning point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The untitled Avengers movie will complete the story that began in Avengers: Infinity War, centring around the machinations of the giant, purple space villain Thanos.

Infinity War made some earth-shattering changes to the MCU status quo that set the stage for everything that will happen in its sequel.

Consider this your final spoiler warning.

Avengers 4 release date

The untitled Avengers movie will be out in the UK on April 26, 2019, and in the US on May 3, 2019.

That puts its release date almost exactly a year after Infinity War. Between those two films we will be getting Ant-Man and the Wasp (in 2018) and Captain Marvel (earlier in 2019).

Avengers 4 title

We’re still waiting to learn the title, which was originally given as ‘Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2’.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige hinted that the title of the movie could be a spoiler. ‘Avengers: Half the Universe is Dead’, perhaps? He has since said that he regrets not revealing the name sooner, feeling that speculation detracted from the attention given to Infinity War – although not enough to prevent it from receiving the biggest opening weekend of all time.

The current rumour is that it will be called ‘Avengers: End Game’, but we might not get confirmation of that until the end of 2018.

Avengers 4 cast

Avengers: Infinity War had the biggest superhero movie cast ever, and even though a load of them are apparently dead, we still expect most of those actors will be back for part two.

The Infinity War survivors are sure be back – that’s the somewhat ragged looking lineup of Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Chris Evans (Captain America), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and perhaps the unaccounted for Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts) and Letitia Wright (Shuri).

Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) will make a return along with Evangeline Lilly (The Wasp), Michelle Pfeiffer (the other Wasp) and thus, presumably, Michael Douglas (Hank Pym). Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan) has also filmed scenes for the movie.

And don’t forget Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye (or is it Ronin now?). If he doesn’t show up, people will riot.

Josh Brolin (Thanos) has been promised to return too, although he’ll be in the market for some new sidekicks.

And what of our fallen heroes – Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Dave Bautista (Drax), Pom Klementieff (Mantis) and Groot (Vin Diesel)? Can they really be gone forever? Probably not.

Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers (aka Captain Marvel) – the MCU’s most powerful superhero – was only hinted at in Infinity War. Her first appearance will be in the ’90s-set Captain Marvel, after which she can finally join the other MCU heroes in Avengers 4.

Ty Simpkins, who played the kid Harley Keener from Iron Man 3, is reported to be returning too. And there’s a rumour that Natalie Portman could even make an unlooked-for return as Jane Foster, who were led to believe survived the Infinity Snap.

Just don’t expect Adam Warlock to make his debut.

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo are returning after Infinity War. Well, ‘returning’ isn’t quite the right word, as they filmed the two movies back-to-back. And Brolin hinted that it might be their final project for Marvel.

Avengers 4 plot

Infinity War dealt with the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy battling against Thanos, who (with his lieutenants/children the Black Order) was out to collect those superpowered MacGuffins the Infinity Stones for his Infinity Gauntlet in order to erase half the life in the universe.

And shock! Horror! He succeeded!

Avengers 4 follows on from that in what we can only imagine will be a desperate attempt to restore to life everyone that turned to ash and disappeared.

We’ve been told that it’s a different genre from Infinity War and that – according to Hemsworth – it will be “even more shocking”. The stories were said to be separate enough that the original ‘Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2’ title had to be abandoned – although we would argue that Infinity War still feels like the first half of a longer story.

Speculation that the film could have something to do with the comic book event Secret Invasion – in which Earth was revealed to have been thoroughly infiltrated by shapeshifting Skrull aliens – has apparently come to naught. We’re not surprised, even if the aliens are introduced in Captain Marvel.

The rumours of a time-travel plot feel more convincing than ever. How else to bring a load of superheroes back from the dead? The evidence for this includes various actors spotted in their old costumes, including Hemsworth holding Mjolnir and back in his wig.

Tony’s BARF technology was thought to be an alternate explanation for their retro looks, but we’re not sure how that could help undo Thanos’s destruction.

We seem pretty convinced that our heroes will be back, right? Well, considering the two movies we know will follow Avengers 4 are a Spider-Man sequel and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, they’ll be in for a hard time if most of their leads are still dead.

What we do know for certain is that the untitled Avengers movie will mark an ending to what will be an 11-year-old, 22-movie-long story at that point (kicked off in the distant past by 2008’s Iron Man).

Avengers 4 will wrap up all storylines and have “a definite ending”, Kevin Feige told Empire, promising the upcoming sequel will wrap up its narrative threads.

“Storylines can come to an end,” he suggests. “The best stories do come to an end. Return of the Jedi was an ending for a long time and as a 10-year-old in 1983 that carried me through 30 years until there was a sequel.

“That hasn’t happened before in the superhero genre. A new actor comes in and a new storyline starts right away. We wanted to do it this way because we think that the best stories have a definitive ending to a storyline. That’s certainly what’s going to happen next year with Avengers 4.”

Chris Evans has said that Avengers 4 is “going to wrap everything up”. It marks the end of Marvel’s Phase Three, and leads directly into the first Phase Four film, the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. And we mean directly – Spider-Man 2 is set mere minutes after the end of Avengers 4.

What form will this end take? It’s a safe bet that some long-time MCU stars will take Avengers 4 as a good opportunity to bow out. Evans has hinted that this is his last outing as Cap. Will Downey Jr finally retire from the franchise too, as has been teased repeatedly over the last few years? Or maybe Hemsworth is on his way out?

And how will these exits happen? It’s a toss-up between walking off into the sunset for a well-earned retirement, being murdered brutally to spur on their allies, or the tried and tested Noble Sacrifice™.

Sacrifices are one of the only things we’re currently sure about, as an issue of License Global magazine is the first source to share a tentative synopsis for the fourth Avengers movie:

“A culmination of 22 interconnected films, the fourth instalment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”

Phase Four, we’re promised, will mark a big change for the MCU. Whatever form those changes take, Avengers 4 is where it all starts.

Avengers 4 trailer

There’s no sign of a trailer yet, but the first footage was shown to audiences at CineEurope in June 2018.

Unfortunately, as we learned with the Infinity War preview at San Diego Comic-Con in 2017, that doesn’t mean that Disney won’t keep us waiting before letting the public see anything from the movie.
